What distinguishes the Global Contract Foundation from other foundations?
The Global Contract Foundation has been created out of the desire of young scientists, students and businessmen to become actively committed to shaping a world order oriented on sustainability. This means that the Global Contract Foundation, in contrast to many other foundations, still has to build up its capital stock.

The Global Contract Foundation engages in which topics?
The Global Contract Foundation deals with the promotion and scientific analysis of international framework conditions in order to establish a global governance system oriented on sustainability. We wanted to change the fact that no public or private organization or institution known to us deals exclusively and intensively with this topic.

The Global Contract Foundation is dedicated to which approach?
The Global Contract Foundation strives for solutions and tries to act accordingly. Thus, we carry out projects. Moreover, the Foundation co-operates with further institutions and individuals in order to increase its competence. These co-operations are supposed to be intensified in the future. Our aim is also the global strengthening of the civil society.

What is the link between the Global Contract Foundation and the Global Marshall Plan Foundation as well as the Global Marshall Plan Initiative?
The Global Contract Foundation was charged by the people involved in the Global Marshall Plan Initiative with co-ordinating the Initiative. This task is by far the biggest among the activities of the Global Contract Foundation. The Global Marshall Plan Foundation was founded in 2003. According to its statutes, it supports the Global Contract Foundation financially and oversees the finances of the Global Marshall Plan Initiative.

What is a global contract?

Can I download international framework conditions on the website of the Global Contract Foundation?
On our website, we have compiled the most important international framework conditions encouraging a sustainable and ecosocial global political order. Moreover, there are numerous multilateral treaties in the framework of the United Nations. Please contact us if you would like to add another document to our list.

Who are the people behind the Global Contract Foundation?
The Global Contract Foundation consists of a young team of scientists, students and businessmen who work highly efficiently, pragmatically and purposefully. The Executive Board, Board of Trustees and project managers work on a honorary basis, a professional office team ensures the efficient work of the Foundation. The Board of Trustees consists of persons such as Prof. Dr. Dr. Franz Josef Radermacher and Prof. Dr. Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker who are renowned for this topic. An Advisory Board which is being established is supposed to support the Foundation with relevant specialized knowledge.

What is the political orientation of the Global Contract Foundation?
The Global Contract Foundation influences politics but is strictly non-party and independent.

What is the target group of the Global Contract Foundation?
With its activities, the Global Contract Foundation tries to reach various target groups: with its conceptual work, the Foundation aims at present and future decision makers. When trying to raise awareness, the broad interested public is addressed.

Which network is behind the Global Contract Foundation?
Since its establishment, the Global Contract Foundation has set up an efficient network in the fields of science, economy and politics. This network is meant to be actively and proactively used for the aims of the Foundation. We closely co-operate with the Club of Rome and the Ecosocial Forum in Vienna. Due to our involvement in the Global Marshall Plan Initiative, however, there are contacts to a great number of organizations and institutions.

How does the Global Contract Foundation become active?
The Global Contract Foundation works proactively and vigorously. It wants to bring about the necessary changes, even though these may be "uncomfortable" for some people and in the short run. The Foundation has an open and critical, but always constructive approach. It aims highly with the quality of its work and publications.

How does the Global Contract Foundation define its sphere of action?
The Global Contract Foundation wants to help shape the future and to enable people to shape the future in their turn. The Foundation calls on everybody to become active themselves. It sets great store on not only thinking and acting in the big international context. The Global Contract Foundation is aware of the fact that many changes have to start on the small scale, i.e. with each individual. Because of this, the Foundation prefers the motto of the Club of Rome "think globally, act locally". In order to live up to this standard, the Foundation, apart from its conceptual work, also carries out various projects which illustrate the central thoughts of the Foundation in an exemplary way.

Which is the standard of the solution concepts of the Global Contract Foundation?
The Foundation wants to work out realizable solution concepts. Thus, it is important to us to identify, in our solution concepts, win-win constellations for all people involved. As far as possible and reasonable, the solution concepts are also supposed to orient on the principle of subsidiarity.

How can I get involved in the Global Contract Foundation?
There are many possibilities to get involved in the Foundation: you can participate in concrete projects, join the circle of friends, make a donation or a co-foundation etc. Simply look at our site "Support".

How can I support the Global Contract Foundation?
We are grateful for any volunteer who increases the scope of our work. Committed people can realize their own project ideas with us. Our office in Hamburg sees itself as the headquarters ensuring continuity and know-how transfer for the people involved who are largely not working on site.
