What distinguishes the Global Contract Foundation from other foundations?
The Global Contract Foundation was created by young scientists, students and businessmen who wanted to become actively committed to shaping a world order oriented on sustainability. This means that the Global Contract Foundation, in contrast to many other foundations, had to build up its capital stock from the beginning.

What are the central topics pursued by the Global Contract Foundation?
The Global Contract Foundation deals with the promotion and scientific analysis of international framework conditions in order to establish a system of global governance based on sustainability. We wanted to change the fact that no public or private organization or institution known to us deals exclusively and intensively with this topic.

What is the favoured approach of the Global Contract Foundation?
The Global Contract Foundation strives for effective solutions and endeavours to act accordingly. Thus, our work is primarily project based. Moreover, the Foundation co-operates with further institutions and individuals in order to increase its competence. It is the Foundation’s intention to further intensify these relationships in the future. It is also our aim to strengthen civil society at a global level.

What is the connection between the Global Contract Foundation, the Global Marshall Plan Foundation and the Global Marshall Plan Initiative?
The Global Contract Foundation was commissioned by those involved with the Global Marshall Plan Initiative, to help coordinate the Initiative. This task is by far the most extensive among the activities of the Global Contract Foundation. The Global Marshall Plan Foundation was founded in 2003. According to its statutes, it supports the Global Contract Foundation financially and also oversees the finances of the Global Marshall Plan Initiative.

Our involvement with the Global Marshall Plan Initiative, also provides us with a number of great contacts with other organisations and institutions.

How exactly is the Global Contract Foundation active?
The Global Contract Foundation works proactively and vigorously. The Foundation has an open and critical, but always constructive approach. It aims high with the quality of its work and publications.

How does the Global Contract Foundation define its sphere of action?
The Global Contract Foundation aims to help shape the future and also works to support others in their endeavours to lobby for a better future. The Foundation calls on everybody to become active and places great importance on the need to think and act within the international or global context. The Global Contract Foundation is aware that for big changes to occur, action must first start on a small scale i.e. with each individual. Owing to this, the Foundation also embraces the motto of the Club of Rome "think globally, act locally". In order to support this concept, in addition to its conceptual work, the Foundation also runs various projects which demonstrate the central ideas of the Foundation in an exemplary way.

What is the concept behind the solutions that the Global Contract Foundation proposes?
The Foundation aims to propose solutions that can be effectively realized. Thus, it is important to us to identify solution concepts that will provide win-win arrangements for all people involved.
