Aims

The Global Contract Foundation wants to raise awareness for the need to act globally. At the same time, it develops and describes concrete ways to design a global order system, based on contracts, for sustainable development. In doing this, the Foundation focuses on the development and implementation of contract-based solutions which also take economic, ecological, social and cultural aspects into consideration. Such a grouping of separate aspects allows for a balance of pros and cons in the long run, enabling a win-win situation for all players involved.

The road to success:
In order to reach its aim, the Global Contract Foundation is actively engaged in the scientific field, in project work and in public relations.

The topics of scientific investigation are potential content of global contracts (policies), processes to reach them (politics) and institutional structures to implement them (polities). The Global Contract Foundation does not see itself primarily as a critical observer, but instead as a provider of feasible solutions. Apart from several publications, the Global Contract Report was written in this vein.

On the one hand, the projects carried out by the Global Contract Foundation are meant to increase public awareness of the need for global contracts which promote sustainable development. The projects also work to show how these contracts can be realized. For more details, see our site "Activities".

On the other hand, the Foundation wants to help and to encourage people all over the world to contribute to solutions based on global contracts by using their civic committment and active participation. This is part of the support we offer, which also includes the provision of speakers.

Finally, the Foundation offers quite a few services with which it makes its knowledge in the fields of globalization, global governance and sustainable development available. With the help of international experts, a data bank with solutions based on global contracts will eventually be created.
